LEGO® MINDSTORMS™ IS A HUGE HIT FOR TEMPLAR STUDIOS
Project Is First Major Site Design For New Collective

New York City, NY - Templar Studios announced today the success of the LEGO MINDSTORMS COMMUNITY WEBSITE: www.legomindstorms.com. The site, which was produced in conjunction with LEGO MINDSTORMS, now boasts more than 22,000 registered users and has had over 10 million hits. Providing ongoing content, design and technical development, Templar helped to facilitate the creation of an online community that brings together inventors from all over the world. To enhance the experience of its visitors and members, the Website features Flash, Quicktime VR and other new technologies.

The Community is a major component of the LEGO Group's daring new product called The Robotics Invention System, which combines Lego bricks with a powerful microcomputer that acts as the brain of limitless inventions.

"We're very proud of the opportunity the LEGO Group has given us," said Peter Mack, President and CEO of Templar Studios."Creating this community allows us to use our art and technology to help people learn. Templar strives to bring sophisticated content to children, and that's something the LEGO Group has done for many years. We're honored to have them as a client."

"Templar provides the combination of content and technology that we need, in a style that suits our goals," said Russell Stoll, Online Manager for LEGO MINDSTORMS. "They have been instrumental in helping us create such a popular online environment for this product."

The site represents the first major launch for Templar, which is a collective of artists, animators, writers, musicians and Internet technology specialists. Formed in early 1998, Templar specializes in developing and producing interactive entertainment and online communities that support and expand its clients' brands and products. Previous projects have included Nick.com, Comic Relief UK's 1997 Christmas Website, and the kids' e-zine JINX, which was nominated for Cool Site of the Year 1996. Templar is currently developing an Internet- and CD-ROM-based PC game and a real-time, multi-user online cartoon magazine using Java. Internet users can visit their site at www.templar.com.

Based in Enfield, Connecticut, LEGO MINDSTORMS is a new brand of the LEGO Group, and is dedicated to developing and deploying new technologies that empower children to learn. The LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System and expansion sets go on sale in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom in September 1998.

The LEGO Group, a privately held, family-owned company, is based in Billund, Denmark with American home offices in Enfield, Connecticut. The company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of play materials for children. The LEGO Group is committed to the development of children's creative and imaginative abilities, and its employees are guided by the motto adopted in the 1930's by the founder Ole Kirk Christiansen:"Only the best is good enough."
