TEMPLAR™ STUDIOS WINS THREE WEBAWARDS AT 2000 COMPETITION
Studio Among Top Interactive Agencies To Be Honored
NEW YORK - Templar Studios, LLC announced today that it
received three WebAwards in the Web Marketing Association's
annual competition for corporate Web Sites (www.webaward.org).
The winning sites and categories are www.templar.com
for Outstanding Web Site / Design; www.legomindstorms.com
for Outstanding Web Site / Toy & Hobby; and www.learntodraw.com
for Standard of Excellence / Arts. Over 900 sites from
around the world were entered into the contest, where
they were judged based on design, innovation, content,
interactivity, navigation, ease of use and use of technology.
"Winners of the 2000 WebAwards represent some of
the best web sites on the Internet today," said William
Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. The
2000 WebAwards competition format allows Websites to compete
head to head with other sites within their industry as
well as against a Standard of Excellence.
"We are very pleased to be included amongst the winners
at the WebAwards competition," said Brian Fisher,
Managing Partner of Templar Studios. "Our unique
design abilities and interface strategies have provided
our sites with a successful user experience. These three
WebAwards have helped to confirm the quality of our work."
The three winning sites include Templar's own
templar.com, where visitors can glimpse into the world
of Templar Studios. More like a puzzle than a typical
company WebSite, templar.com
contains unusual navigation, secret pop-ups and, of course,
a video game or two. The site has been recognized as one
of the most unusual - and fun - corporate Web Sites since
its launch.
Templar's second win was for LEGO® MINDSTORMS™
(legomindstorms.com),
for which Templar has been the lead design and production
agency for more than two years. The consumer-targeted
site features extensive Flash, 3D models and virtual robotics,
focusing on the LEGO Group's amazing line of robotic toys.
The site receives strong repeat traffic and hosts two
exclusive video games, including STORMRUNNER, one of the
largest Java-based games ever made for the Web.
Templar's proprietary online drawing game, learntodraw.com,
was also a winner. Based on the Exquisite Corpse, a Dadaist
game, Learn To Draw™ is a real-time drawing tool.
Since its launch in July of 2000, the site has received
thousands of postings, creating an outrageous database
of drawings and sketches which are recompiled over and
over into endless combinations.
Formed in 1998, Templar Studios is a collective of artists,
animators, designers, writers, composers and Internet
