TEMPLAR™ STUDIOS WINS THREE OMNI INTERMEDIA AWARDS
Studio Takes Home Gold, Silver and Bronze for Web Gaming

New York City, NY - Templar Studios, LLC announced today that it received three awards at the 2001 Omni Intermedia Awards: Gold - Product Site for LEGO® BIONICLE™ (www.bionicle.com); Silver - Web Game Programming for LEGO STORMRUNNER™ (http://mindstorms.lego.com/community/games); and Bronze - Experimental for Templar's own site (www.templar.com). The announcement was made by Brian Fisher, Templar Studios' Managing Partner.

The Omni Intermedia Awards (www.omniawards.com) recognize outstanding production, design and content in the converging fields of television, film, Internet, interactive media and 3D animation. Over 500 entries were reviewed by 25 judges; other winning entrants and/or clients included CBS, CNN, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sprint, and USA TODAY. In the past two years, Templar has taken home eight industry awards for design, gaming, arts and product promotion.

Fisher stated, "We are proud to receive three Omnis this year. Our entries showcased different branding initiatives that met different goals, and these wins are a gratifying achievement."

Gold winner, LEGO BIONICLE, is a meld of storytelling and gaming that introduces visitors to the amazing Bionicle product line, which is being released throughout 2001. With a total of nine chapters planned for launch throughout 2001, the series is expected to have up to 20 hours of playtime. Templar provides all concept design, animation, and technical production for the LEGO-produced series. The Flash site features extensive game-play; there are puzzles to solve, mysteries to unravel, and an original score.

Silver winner STORMRUNNER took over a year to develop and comprises over 40,000 lines of Java code, incorporating integrated cinematic Macromedia Flash materials. A self-installing, single player environment, with a complex, expansive universe in which players explore and solve problems by building and programming virtual robots modeled after the sophisticated Robotics Invention System from LEGO MINDSTORMS. With an open-ended narrative driving hours of game-play, it is one of the biggest games written using Sun Microsystems's Java language and one of the largest and most sophisticated games ever created for a web browser.

Bronze winner Templar.com, is a showcase of Templar's passion for gaming and interactive entertainment. More of a game than a corporate website, a visit through the Flash site lets visitors explore the studio, meet the people who work here and features a gallery, mini movie screen, online jukebox and much more. The site has been honored twice before, winning a Web Award for Outstanding Website in 2000 and a Summit Creative Award for Self-Promotion.
